Tips to fix your number plate

People who love their vehicle want it to look the best and for that, the right kind of number plate and the proper kind of number plate fixing is very important, but is the fixing that simple? Well, yes! Only if you follow the correct technique and do it carefully. Below written are some of the steps that can help you with number plate fixing.
  • Removing the existing plate
Number plate fixing can begin only when the existing plate is removed neatly, and to do that you will have to remove the plate depending on the way the number plate is fixed; screwed or stuck using sticky pads.

For the ones that are screwed to the vehicle, you need to pull off the plate in a way that it doesn’t fall and damage your vehicle’s bodywork.

If you have a sticky pad number plate, fishing line method will prove beneficial in removing the plate. In this method, the grip of the number plate is loosened by putting the fishing wire behind it and moving it back and forth so that the number plate leaves the surface of the vehicle easily.
  • Mounting the number plate
Once you are done removing the number plate, you can begin mounting the plate. And like the removing, mounting also has two steps:

Mounting with Screws – To mount the plate with screws, you need to know the right position where the holes are to be drilled and for that, place the old number plate on the top of a new one. This will let you know the right position, and then you can mark that position with markers. Use the screws at the points marked and fixing plate through them onto the vehicle. Once done, put caps over the screws and then press firmly.

Sticky pad number plates – For this kind of number plate, clean the area where you want the plate to be stuck. After cleaning the surface of the vehicle, get your number plate ready by applying the sticky pads at the back of the plate. It is suggested to apply at least 9-12 pads in all directions, horizontal, vertical and slanted. And remove the backing of the pad only when you are about to apply it on to the vehicle, once applied put pressure so that it gets stuck firmly. So, this was all about number plate fixing.
